GUWAHATI, Feb 17: Cricket fans in Guwahati expressed their joy after the BCCI named the ACA Stadium in Barsapara as the venue for two matches.
Rajasthan Royals, who have used Guwahati as their alternate home ground, will play two of their home ties here.
Both matches will be played in March, BCCI stated after releasing the schedule for IPL 2025 yesterday.
The first match will be played on March 26 and the second will take place on March 30.
While Rajasthan Royals face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 the Rahul Dravid-coached franchise, for which local boy Riyan Parag plays, will face Chennai Super Kings in the second match on March 30.
Both matches will begin at 7:30 pm.
“It’s absolutely wonderful that Guwahati will host two IPL matches again. The icing on the case will be the presence of MS Dhoni on March 30. It will be a cracker of a game,” Partha Sarania, a die-hard cricket fan, told News Live.
“I will surely watch at least one match,” he added, saying the second match will be an even bigger crowd-puller owing to the Dhoni factor.
“Although I am a fan of Rajasthan Royals, I might switch allegiance this time. The reason being MS Dhoni is my all-time favourite cricketer,” Ipshit Bharadwaj, another cricket afficionado, told News Live.
