GUWAHATI: Amid widespread fake news on Social Media platforms, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal clarified that no decision has been taken yet on lockdown in the state.
Taking to the official Twitter handle, Assam chief minister Sonowal stated, “We have noticed that this WhatsApp message is being circulated, which is completely baseless. We will let everyone know if the Govt takes any such decisions. Request everyone not to panic in our fight against #COVID19outbreak.”

Meanwhile, referring to an order copy being circulated on Social Media, Press Information Bureau (PIB) clarified, “These orders are applicable to States and UTs where lockdown has been announced. It does not apply to other States.”
