Fake DSP arrested by Dispur Police in Khanamukh


GUWAHATI: Dispur Police on Wednesday arrested one fake Policeman(DSP) identified as Anup Kumar Das from Khanamukh in Assam.

Das, posing as a fake Police DSP took money from people for different purposes.

According to sources, Anup Kumar Das(45) is a resident of Dharapur in Guwahati. Recently, Das took 1.70 lakh rupees from one, Hakim Uddin to release a car that was seized by police.
But, when Hakim Uddin didn’t get his car back even after paying the asked amount, Hakim suspected him to be a fake policeman and went to Dispur Police Station and lodged an FIR. Later, they came to know that Anup Kumar Das is not a DSP and in no way associated with Assam Police.

Das has been sent to two days remand by the Kamrup Metropolitan District Magistrate.

The Dispur Police is interrogating the fake policeman.

It is to be mentioned that Garchuk Police on Saturday (February 27) arrested a fake Police officer from the Garchuk area in Guwahati. The fake policeman is Kuljit Baishya resident of Azara, Dharapur.
