GUWAHATI: The authorities of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam have restarted the elephant safari from Sunday. The park officials allowed booking for only 37 seats in view of COVID-19 infection and received 100% booking.
“Cheering news to start the day with as @kaziranga_authority has restarted the much awaited elephant safari from today. Welcome you all to get amazed at the majestic Kaziranga,” tweeted Assam forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya.
The national park which was closed for tourists in March this year in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, reopened for tourists on October 21. It was the longest shutdown in the history of Kaziranga. From October 21, only jeep safaris were allowed.
