GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 8th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on Friday via video-conferencing.
Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also participated in the programme virtually.
Under this scheme, the benefit is being provided to more than 9.5 crore farmers and funds amounting to Rs 20,667 crore.
It was launched on February 24, 2019.
In just over 35 days of launch, more than 3 crore farmers of the country were benefited by this scheme.
Within 1 year, the flagship scheme benefited more than 8.46 crore farmers. The number rose further to 9 crore in 13 months.
According to MyGovIndia, over 11.28 crore farmers have been benefitted so far.
