Guwahati: The Assam Police raided Guwahati on Sunday and managed to arrest three drug mafias including drugs worth Rs 1.5 crore.
Based on information received by the city police Paltan Bazar police station raided Lachit Nagar and arrested two drug dealers Chanchal Nath and Rimon Sharma.
Paltan Bazar police raided a business firm called RCM Store in Birubari on the basis of the information received by arrested drug dealers.
On raiding the business establishment Police seized 600 grams of heroin stored in 43 soap cartoons.
The police also arrested drug mafia Arun Yadav in a similar case. While interrogating the drug mafia said that another man from Dakhin Goa is involved in smuggling drugs.
Acting on the information the police with the help of Arun started searching the Dakhin Gaon area.
The police took Arun with them to extract more information about the area.
But Arun took advantage of the darkness and tried to escape while the raiding team was conducting a foot raid on the hillside. To stop Arun from escaping, the Police immediately fired at him.
He was injured in the leg by the fire shots of police and was immediately admitted to GMCH.
Police said the drug mafia currently undergoing treatment at GMCH.
