Driving in wrong lane in Assam can result in a fine of Rs. 5,000 or six months in prison

Guwahati: The Assam Transport Department has issued a warning for the people driving their vehicles on the wrong side of the lane.

The department warned that driving on the incorrect side of the lane could result in a penalty of up to Rs. 5000 or a 6-month jail sentence.

“Driving a vehicle on the wrong side of the lane shall invite penalty upto Rs. 5000/- or imprisonment for a period of 6 months,” tweeted Assam Transport Department.
