Donald Trump ends Biden’s hold on sending 2,000 pound bombs to Israel

GUWAHATI, Jan 26: US President Donald Trump has lifted a ban on supplying 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, reports stated quoting a White House official.

The ban was imposed by Trump’s predecessor Joe Biden under which delivery of about 3,500 bombs to Israel — including the 2,000-pound explosives — was kept on hold in a bid to limit civilian casualties in the city of Rafah during Israel’s military campaign against Hamas in Gaza Strip.

These include 1,800 MK-84 “bunker-buster” bombs, reports stated, which can penetrate underground bunkers before exploding.

“A lot of things that were ordered and paid for by Israel, but have not been sent by Biden, are now on their way!” Trump said, taking to Truth Social.

Trump had during his election campaign also vowed to provide Israel with all resources required to get the hostages released.
