No lessons learnt from the Dokmoka lynching incident. Two months after the shocking lynching of Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath by a savage murderous mob at Panjuri village under Dokmoka police station in Karbi Anglong district, another person died and three more were injured after they were physically assaulted, beaten black and blue by another savage crowd at Diplonga tea garden in Sootea, Biswanath district early Thursday morning after they were suspected of being cattle smugglers.

The four persons, all of them pig sellers, were assaulted and beaten with sticks, rods and everything the mob could get hold of in a situation very similar to the Dokmoka incident.

The deceased has been identified as Deben Rajbongshi who succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a private nursing home while the three other injured — Phulchand Sahu, Bijay Nayak and Pujen Rajbongshi — are undergoing treatment.
Biswanath Police, meanwhile, have begun investigations into the incident and are zeroing in the culprits involved in the incident.
