GUWAHATI, Oct 25: There’s more good news for State government employees of Assam with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today (Oct 25) announcing that employees will get their salaries from Oct 28 so that they can celebrate the festival of lights in a grand and befitting manner.
“Lighting up your Diwali celebrations 🎆 To make Diwali special for our State Govt employees, we will credit their salaries from 28th of October, 2024 onwards. Shubh Deepawali 🪔,” Chief Minister Sarma announced through his social media handles.
Today’s announcement comes after Chief Minister Sarma had, in a video streamed live on social networking site Facebook, announced that his government is contemplating a Dearness Allowance hike, in line with the Central Government’s 3% increase, for State Government employees in and around Diwali.
