Digital India makes road possible in Assam’s Dudhnoi after independence

GUWAHATI: In Assam a road has been finally constructed in an interior village thanks to the Digital India initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Bagribari, Ghagra Mowamari to Kahibari Road in Dudhnoi, Goalpara, Assam was in a poor, dilapidated condition since independence.

A local youth Raman Basumatary of Ghagra Mowamari Village raised the issue of the poor road through the CPGRAMS (Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System) in 2017.

The Government of India took note of the grievance of Raman Basumatary and initiated the process of construction of the road.

“This road was in a bad shape and had created problems for school going students and people travelling for medical help. Its condition was so bad that even ambulance could not reach our village. In 2017, I wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighting the state of the road and the difficulties we were facing. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) then instructed the Assam PWD to ensure that the grievance was addressed.  After that, with the help from our local MLA Dipak Rabha this road has finally been finished,” said Raman Basumatary.

“The CPGRAMS website is of great help. The Bagribari, Ghagra Mowamari to Kahibari Road was in a poor shape for a long time. Thanks to Digital India this road became possible,” said Dipak Rabha, MLA Dudhnoi.

The local people of the area are happy as their road problem has been resolved and appreciated the Digital India initiative of the Prime Minister.

“This was a very bad road and remained a big problem for the people of the area. A great work has been completed through a process taken up by PM Modi towards building roads in the villages. We are grateful to the prime minister and our MLA for completing this road for us,” said a local resident.
