Differently-able protesters seeking filling up of backlog vacancies and other demands protested outside the Assam Secretariat this morning (July 27) as police faced flak for using force on the unarmed and relatively peaceful protesters who were pushed into buses and whisked away from the protest site.
The protest was taken out under the banner of the Pratibandhi Suraksha Santha (PSS) that flayed the government for failing to fill up 4,419 government posts reserved for differently-able job applicants along with 20 other demands.
Protesters carrying banners and placards shouted anti-government slogans and claimed that the government has failed to keep its promise of launching a special recruitment drive to fill up nearly 4,500 posts reserved for differently-able candidates.
