GUWAHATI: Diban Deka, one of the prime accused in Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recuitment scam who was arrested on Wednesday was hiding at various places of Barbhag in Nalbari district.
According to reports, Deka was taking shelter at several locations in the Barbhag area for last 10 days. He was arrested from Patacharkuchi on Wednesday night.
After his arrest, Diban Deka was shifted to Guwahati for further interrogation and legal procedure.
Alongwith former deputy inspector general (DIG) Prasanta Kumar Dutta, the former BJP leader Diban Deka was one of the accused in the question paper leak case.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Assam State BJP expelled Deka from the party.
