GUWAHATI: Continuing its drive against cattle smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh border in western Assam’s Dhubri district, Assam Police last night seized a boat loaded with cattle. Dhubri Police rescued 56 cattle heads and arrested three smugglers in the operation.
South Salmara Mankachar Police also assisted their Dhubri counterpart in the mission.
Earlier on Friday, Dhubri Police seized Rs. 6 Lakh in cash and several bank passbooks from the house of absconding illegal cattle trader Eunus Ali.
Several cattle smugglers were also arrested in the district in recent times.
