Assam Ministers Keshab Mahanta, Topon Kumar Gogoi, Parimal Shuklabaidya along with Sadia MLA Bolin Chetia, Tinsukia MLA Sanjoy Kishan and Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Kuladhar Saikia reached Kharbari Bisonimukh on Friday morning and met kin of the five persons killed by unidentified gunmen near Dhola in Tinsukia district Thursday evening. They also offered their condolences.

The Assam Government has announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to kin of five persons killed in the incident. The announcement was made by Ministers Keshab Mahanta, Topon Kumar Gogoi and Parimal Shuklabaidya after visiting victim families.

Meanwhile, speaking to News Live, Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia said that police have started their investigation and they will not leave any stone unturned to arrest the miscreants.

“Primary duty of police force is to protect the lives and property of the common people. We have already begun investigations and the police will leave no stone unturned to arrest the assailants behind the shooting incident,” said DGP Saikia.
