Dhekiajuli boy offers his kidneys to Assam Health Minister

GUWAHATI: After the news of Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma having a kidney stone, a man from Dhekiajuli under Sonitpur district has come forward to offer his kidneys if required.

The man named Biswajit Bhagat sent a message to Dr. Sarma  on June 14 expressing his readiness to donate his kidneys for the health minister who was detected with a kidney stone.

Sharing the message on Twitter, minister Sarma has expressed his gratitude to Bhagat.

Dr. Sarma was diagnosed with a kidney stone measuring 3.76 mm on June 14. However, despite his illness, he was seen working on official files during his bed rest.

Himanta Biswa Sarma has been relentlessly visiting different hospitals, COVID-19 care centres, quarantine centres to bolster the state’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

So far, Assam has reported 23999 COVID-19 cases.
