A day after Tezpur Lok Sabha MP RP Sharma hinted at a political conspiracy against him in the wake of Dibrugarh Police issuing summons to his daughter in connection with the APSC cash-for-jobs scam, Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia said police have been carrying out their probe in right earnest and that there has been no external pressure or influence as claimed by the Tezpur MP.
“There is no truth in his accusations. Investigations are going on without any external influence. Nobody is influencing the probe,” Kuladhar Saikia said.

On the other hand, State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, while reacting to the Tezpur MP’s allegations, claimed it’s not proper to make such comments in any platform other than within the party.
“The law is taking its own course. He shouldn’t have said such things in public domain. He could have given me a written complaint. Moreover, there is no truth in his claims,” Dass said.
