Dense fog blankets Delhi-NCR, visibility drops to zero affecting flight and train services

GUWAHATI, Jan 15: A dense fog engulfed Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) this morning bringing down visibility to zero, impacting flight and train services.

At least seven flights, reports said, have been cancelled while 184 more were delayed.

At least 26 Delhi-bound trains were also running late, media reports added.

The fog has also impacted road traffic in Delhi and nearby cities following the reduced visibility.

Delhi Airport asked fliers to stay updated about their flights. warning that flight take-offs and landings have been impacted due to the fog.

“While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted,” Delhi Airport said in alerts issued to fliers.

The IMD, while recording a temperature of 9 degree Celsius in Delhi this morning, also warned about the possibility of a few spells of light rain in the evening or at night.
