GUWAHATI, Dec 5: In the most shocking twist to the chilling murder of a husband-wife duo and their 23-year-old daughter in Delhi yesterday (Dec 4), Delhi Police have arrested the couple’s 20-year-old son, a Delhi University student, for the triple murder.

The bodies of Rajesh Kumar (51), wife Komal (46) and daughter Kavita (23) were found lying in a pool of blood in their house in Neb Sarai locality of the national capital on Wednesday morning.

Rajesh and Komal’s son Arjun told Police that he had left for his morning walk and found the bodies when he returned.

The murders sent shockwaves in the entire country as people questioned how three persons of a family could be killed, that too in the national capital.

Delhi Police, which began its probe, arrested Arjun within 24 hours of the crime after they found many contradictions in his statements. Upon intensive grilling, he confessed to his crime.

Arjun, who is also an aspiring boxer, said he stabbed his father, mother and elder sister to death while they were in their sleep feeling “humiliated” after his father scolded him over his studies.

He also told police during questioning that he suspected that his parents were planning to transfer their entire property to his sister.

Incidentally, yesterday also happened to be his parent’s 27th marriage anniversary, a day Arjun thought would be best to kill them.
