Deepika Padukone has made the entire country proud once again. She is now set to become the first-ever Indian actress to receive a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. The news was officially announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce during a live broadcast as part of its 2026 class of inductees.
Deepika, who made her Hollywood debut in 2017 alongside Vin Diesel in XXX: Return of Xander Cage, has been chosen in the Motion Pictures category. She will now join an iconic list of global stars like Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Demi Moore, Stanley Tucci, and others who will be honoured next year.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a huge achievement for any artist, and it recognises exceptional talent in film, TV, music, live performance, and even sports. This year’s list also includes big names from across the world of entertainment, such as Sarah Michelle Gellar from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and Good Morning America hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, who will receive a joint star. Even posthumous honours have been announced for names like director Tony Scott and Italian special effects expert Carlo Rambaldi.
Deepika’s achievement is not just a personal milestone, but a historic one for Indian cinema. While Indian actors have received global attention before, she will be the first Indian actress to be honoured with a dedicated star on the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. This shows how far Indian talent has reached, especially on the international stage.
Apart from her professional achievements, Deepika has also been enjoying a beautiful chapter in her personal life. She and her husband Ranveer Singh became parents to a baby girl on 8th September 2024. They named her Dua Padukone Singh, and revealed her name during Diwali, saying she was truly “the answer to our prayers”.
On the work front, Deepika was last seen in the futuristic blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD, which featured big names like Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. She will return in the sequel and is also teaming up with Allu Arjun for a new project directed by Atlee, tentatively titled AA22xA6.
