Dacoits dressed in army uniform loot businessman in Mariani

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, 4 men dressed in army uniform robbed a businessman in Mariani, Assam.

According to reports, the businessman identified as Sanjay Agarwal and his family was at their home when 4 men dressed in army fatigues entered forcefully and allegedly robbed him of cash and gold jewellery.

Sanjay Roy, an employee of Sanjay Agarwal chased the robbers. The robbers shot Sanjay straight at his heart and injured him severely. He has been taken to JMCH (Jorhat Medical College and Hospital) for treatment. It is to be mentioned that the incident took place just a kilometer away from Mariani Police Station.

In the meantime, with the help of local residents Assam Police have apprehended the 4 robbers along with their weapons.  The 4 robbers have been identified as Sumair Singh, Jagdar Singh, Lal Singh and Maru. The police also recovered a Suzuki Swift car from Golaghat that was used by the robbers.

“Four men dressed in army uniform entered our home and locked us in a separate room and robbed us of our money and all the gold jewellery. They even snatched our mobile phones. We tried protesting but they hit us with lathis. We were helpless. We even asked them who they were in which they asked us to be quiet or else they will kill us. All the four men were Punjabi and were speaking in Hindi. They have even shot one of our staff Sanjay Roy,” said Sanjay Agarwal’s wife.
