GUWAHATI, March 2: India have set a target New Zealand a target of 250 runs for victory in the final match in Group A in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Put in bat by Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner who won the toss, the Men in Blue slumped to 249 for 9 in their stipulated 50 overs. Shreyas Iyer top scored for India making 79 runs while Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel made 45 and 42 runs respectively.
New Zealand pacer Matt Henry was the pick of the Kiwi bowlers picking up five wickets while Kyle Jamieson, Will O’Rourke, Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra all picked up one wicket each.
Although both India and New Zealand have booked their place in the semi-finals of the tournament, the winner of today’s match, by topping the group, will face Australia while the team coming second in Group A will meet Group B toppers South Africa in the other last-four tie.
