Five lakh Assam Government employees will soon jump into the ongoing protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill with the Sodou Asom Karmachari Parishad (SAKP), the apex body of government employees in Assam, deciding to stage a three-hour sit-in demonstration on Jan 30 to extend their solidarity to the campaign against the proposed legislation.
The SAKP has also extended its support to AASU’s Jan 23 protest.

The decision to jump into the protests was taken at the central executive meeting of the association held at Tamulpur today (Jan 20).
