After the supreme sacrifice of CRPF jawan Nirod Sarma from Nalbari one more jawan from Assam, Sunil Kalita has sacrificed his life for the country. 32-year-old Kalita, a CRPF Cobra Commando and resident of Palara, Kamalpur (Kamrup) lost his struggle with life on Thursday evening after succumbing to his injuries in AIIMS, New Delhi.
Sunil Kalita was injured in the deadly IED attack by Maoists in Saraikela area, Jharkhand on the morning of 28th May. He was airlifted to Ranchi and was shifted to AIIMS, New Delhi on 4th June where he succumbed to his injuries. His body will reach Guwahati from Delhi today evening and the cremation will be performed with state honours on Saturday in Palar, Kamalpur.
Sunil Kalita had joined the CRPF in January 2011, after graduating as a pharmacist. Sunil was married two months ago. Sunil Kalita was a soldier from the 209 Cobra Regiment of the CRPF.
