GUWAHATI, Dec 11: West Indies won the 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh at home after defeating the visitors by 7 wickets in the second one-dayer at Basseterre, St Kitts.
The hosts are now 2-0 up in the series with a match to go.
After winning the toss and inviting Bangladesh to bat first, the hosts skittled the visitors out for 227 runs in 45.5 overs. Mahmudullah top scored making 62 while lower-order batter Tanzim Hasan Sakib made 45 and opener Tanzid Hasan scored a blistering 33-ball 46.
West Indian pacer Jayden Seales was the pick of the bowlers castling four Bangladeshi wickets while giving away ony 22 runs in the 9 overs he bowled.
In reply, the hosts reached the target in just 36.5 overs.
Opener Brandon King slammed a 76-ball 82 while Evin Lewis was dismissed for 49 and Keacy Carty made a 47-ball 45.
Seales was named Player of the match.
Incidentally, the victory gave West Indies their first one-day international series victory over Bangladesh in 10 years.
The third ODI will be played at the same venue tomorrow.
