GUWAHATI: The government offices in Nalbari which fall under the COVID-19 Red Zone resumed functioning from today. Though government offices in other parts of Assam including state secretariat in Guwahati started functioning from Tuesday, offices in Nalbari district remained shut as it was categorised as a Red Zone by the union health ministry.
The offices in the district restarted their works with minimal staff and taking necessary precautions against COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have been following all the government protocols against COVID-19. We are strictly maintaining social distance, sanitisation at the office,” said an employee at a water resources department office in Nalbari.
“Water resources department has many important works including construction of embankment. So it is important for us to resume our works for the interest of the public,” said another employee.
Other offices of various departments also restarted functioning from today following the government directives related to COVID-19 pandemic.
