COVID19 lockdown: Himanta Biswa Sarma interacts with university VCs in Assam


GUWAHATI: As the universities in Assam have remained shut from March 16 amid COVID-19 concerns, Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had a video conference with the vice chancellors (VC) of 17 universities in the state. Dr. Sarma discussed the ways so that academic year is not lost amid lockdown. He sought ideas and innovations from the vice chancellors for the learning and teaching framework.

Earlier on Wednesday, education minister Sarma said that the academic losses can be managed if the educational institutes remain shut till May 30. On the other hand, Gauhati University has already cancelled the summer vacation for the university classes and colleges under its jurisdiction.
