GUWAHATI: After a number of fake COVID-19 pictures and videos circulated on Social Media, it created panic among the people of Assam. Clearing the air Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said that there is no reason to panic as the COVID-19 situation is under control in the state.
“There is no reason to panic as the COVID-19 situation is totally under control. Yesterday, 12 people tested COVID-19 positive, the day before yesterday, 7 people in Assam tested positive. We have not crossed 25 cases per day. So, it can be said that the situation is normal. After the detection of the COVID-19 positive case in Don Bosco School, it created panic among the people. We should follow all the norms like wearing masks, follow social distancing, and when vaccination will start all must take the vaccine,” said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“In government schools, many teachers tested COVID-19 positive in the last few days but why the ‘Don Bosco COVID’ issue is creating panic among the people, I don’t know,” he added.
