COVID-19 vaccination for 18-44 age group begins in Assam

GUWAHATI: The COVID-19 vaccination drive for the age group of 18 to 44 years started in Assam from Friday. The drive which was symbolically launched at Guwahati Press Club on May 5 began full-swing from today.

The health department has been executing this vaccination drive across 244 centres in the state.

 on vaccination for 18-44 age group, glad to share that #COVIDVaccination drive for this category also has started in Assam today across 244 centres.”

According to reports, the drive has received massive responses in all the districts of Assam.

“Today Hojai saw a very good presence in vaccination. The process was fairly smooth. About 4-5 centres in a small town like hojai are appreciable,” writes a Twitter user.

Meanwhile, Assam received 1 lakh more doses of Covishield vaccine for people above 45 years of age. The vaccine availability of the state now stands at 3,82,670.
