COVID-19 positive truck driver reaches Assam from Tripura


GUWAHATI: A truck driver who tested COVID-19 positive in Tripura reached his home in Assam by driving a truck on Friday night. The truck driver identified as Jafrul Islam reached his home at Kayasthagram in Karimganj. He was accompanied by another man. On the other hand, there are 18 members in his family.

On Friday Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb announced in a Tweet, “30 persons found COVID19 POSITIVE in Tripura today. 25 persons from 86th-Bn #BSF, 4 family members from 138th-Bn #BSF & 1 truck driver.”

The truck driver has been identified as Jafrul Islam from Karimganj. Meanwhile, health department team has rushed to his home to arrange treatment and necessary precautions.
