GUWAHATI: A murder accused who was infected with COVID-19 and tried to escape from a hospital in Guwahati was held in Meghalaya.
The COVID-19 positive accused tried to flee from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati on Monday. However, police caught him along with a co-accused from Ladrymbai in Meghalaya.
Sharing a picture of the two accused in the PPE kits, Assam Police tweeted, “Corona giveth & Corona taketh away! When you are a #Covid19 + murder accused and try escaping from MMC Hospital, Guwahati, but end up in custody, socially distanced & PPE’d, along with a co-accused. Stellar work
@KamrupPolice
for apprehending them from Ladrymbai, Meghalaya.”
