GUWAHATI: A 40-bedded COVID-19 hospital only for the women and children at Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati is getting ready to be functional soon. Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the hospital to review on-going work and facilities on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Assam health department has been stepping up with infrastructure to meet the challenges posed by the pandemic.
“From one in February, over the next 24 weeks, we managed to set up 16 Viral Research and Diagnostic( Level 2 )laboratories with the manifold rise in our testing abilities,” Dr. Sarma tweeted.
