GUWAHATI: Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated across India on Wednesday and amid the COVID-19 pandemic Assam government has issued an order on Monday for Eid celebration across the state.
The authorities have requested all to celebrate Eid from their home. Namaz in Masjid is allowed with only five-person maximum including the Imam(Religious head).
The government said that in order to avoid large congregations, Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) prayers shall not be performed in Eidgahs or at open places.
According to the new directives, “There will be total Containment in five districts showing high positivity rate in recent days.”
The five districts are Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, and Biswanath.
