COVID-19 cases in Assam likely to increase in next 2-3 days

GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam may rise in next 2-3 days. He urged everyone not to become panic, but to take precautions.

“The number of COVID-19 positive cases may rise in next 2-3 days. Because, the results of COVID-19 tests of the passengers of three special trains from Darul Uloom and Nandura to Barak Valley and Hojai will come. So we may see some increase in next 2-3 days,” said Dr. Sarma.

He stated that Assam has a right balance of new COVID-19 cases and discharged patients.

“The mortality rate of Assam is below .3 percent. So I think we should not be panic, but we must be cautious,” health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma added.
