GUWAHATI: In view of the rising COVID-19 cases in Assam, the Assam forest department on Monday (3 May) ordered the closure of all the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries of the state for tourists with immediate effect until further order.
“Considering the alarming rise of COVID cases and reports of lions dying, to prevent transmission of deadly virus from humans to wildlife, a decision was taken to shut down tourism with immediate effect. Let’s fight this virus together,” Tweeted Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve.
