GUWAHATI: In a significant development, a court in Guwahati has put a stay on the election of Atul Bora as Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) President. Bora was elected as the AGP president at the party general body meeting on August 27.
The court opined that the general body meeting of AGP on August 27 whereby Atul Bora was elected as the AGP President was in violation of the injunction order issued a day before the event.
Meanwhile, the AGP leadership has decided to approach the higher court challenging the order of the civil court.
