GUWAHATI: Panbazar Police have registered a case against a group of students from Cotton University for vandalizing a restaurant in the Hem Baruah Road, Guwahati.
According to reports, a group of 50 students created a ruckus at a restaurant ‘Dilli 6 BBQ’ late last night. A salesman at the area said that the students came to the shop late last night and asked for two bottles of water and when the chef replied in Hindi, the students started arguing and asked them to speak in Assamese language. Soon the situation turned hot and the students started vandalizing the shop and thrashed the workers and owner of the restaurant.
The owner of the shop, Sameer Ahmed who is a resident of Uzanbazar, Guwahati was seriously injured in the incident and was rushed to MMCH by a Police team. Till the time Police arrived, the students fled from the spot but the Police team apprehended one of the student who was trying to flee.
The Panbazar Police have started investigations into the case and an FIR has been registered.
