GUWAHATI: The investigation in the Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam has been unpeeling layer by layer shocking details of the properties owned by former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Prasanta Kumar Dutta who is one of the prime accused in the case.
Dutta who is the owner of five hotels in Guwahati also owns many properties in Dibrugarh district of upper Assam. A team of police raided PK Dutta’s under-construction Bhargav Residency at Jiban Phukan Nagar in the Dibruagrh town to unearth the more details related to the case.
According to reports, the former DIG owns 110 bighas of land at various places of Dibrugarh.
Earlier in the search operation at Dutta’s residence at Hengrabari, Guwahati, the team of police recovered many incriminating documents, bank details and 8 kilos of gold worth Rs. 3.5 crore.
Dutta is on the run since Wednesday afternoon.
