GUWAHATI: Responding to the call of prime minister Narendra Modi for ‘Janta Curfew’ in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak in the country, the Assam Chamber of Commerce has decided to observe ‘Vyapar Bandh’ on March 23.
Assam Chamber of Commerce chairman Rupam Goswami has requested all business stores/ premises to remain closed from 6 AM to 9 PM on March 23.
“It might incur loss to our businessman and woman friends but it will help us to prevent the spread of COVID-10. Assam Chamber of Commerce always discourages any kind of ‘BANDH’ be it ‘VYAPAR BANDH’ or be it any type of ‘BANDH’. But we are calling this ‘BANDH’ for a very specific and special cause,” Goswami stated in a press release.
