BJP MP RP Sharma today (July 16) cried foul over Dibrugarh Police issuing summons to his daughter in connection with the APSC cash-for-jobs scam, claiming that there has been a controversy against him from within the party. The loudmouth Tezpur Lok Sabha MP, who has a habit of courting controversies, claimed not only his daughter but he himself is ready to go to jail if it can be proved that his daughter Pallabi Sharma, who had cleared the APSC examinations in 2016 and is now an APS officer, had bribed or influenced Rakesh Paul or for that matter other members of the commission to clear the test.
“My daughter did not influence APSC members and she cleared the APSC tests on merit. We are ready for a probe. If anyone can prove the allegations, I am also ready to go to jail along with my daughter,” Sharma said.

Sharma further claimed his daughter has been summoned so as to malign his image and deny him a ticket from the Tezpur Lok Sabha seat in next year’s general elections.
“There has been a conspiracy against me from within the party. Party ticket aspirants who are keen to fight next year’s general elections are joining hands and conspiring against me. Let there be a probe. The truth will come out,” the Tezpur MP added.

He, however, admitted to have known Rakesh Paul following his association with Satsang.
