Consignment of Assam’s pumpkins leaves for Dubai

GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal flagged-off a consignment of pumpkins to Dubai from air cargo terminal of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport in Guwahati on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion Sonowal said that the farmers of the State will be immensely benefited by such move.

“Our aim is to dominate an international market so that we can achieve the aim of prime minister Narendra Modi to double the income of the farmers by 2022,” Sonowal said.

He expressed hope that the farmers would continue to strengthen the economy of the State.

CM Sonowal also reviewed the screening and testing facilities of COVID-19 at the LGBI airport. He interacted with the doctors, healthcare professionals and other workers stationed at the airport. Sonowal was accompanied by Chandra Mohan Patowary, minister and industry and commerce and Atul Bora, minister of agriculture.
