Congress leaders and activists today (June 6) staged a series of protests across Assam with bullock carts & horse carts over rising fuel prices and observing the day as ‘Viswasghat Diwas’. Party activists flayed both the central and state governments for the recent spurt in petrol and diesel prices that have, however, seen a slight decline in the past couple of days.

The protesters also slammed the government for hiking LPG prices and claimed that the common people have been hit very badly by rising fuel and domestic cylinder prices that have also led to an increase in prices of essential commodities.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Borah took part in the protest taken out at Biswanath.
