Congress loves Babur but not Lord Ram: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI, Jan 14: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma continued his tirade against the Congress party over the latter declining the invite to attend the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya saying they “love Babur, but not Lord Ram”.

The Assam Chief Minister, who was in Kolkata on Saturday, further took cudgels at the party saying the Congress has “lost a golden opportunity to reduce their sins”.

“Everyone from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi went to Afghanistan to visit Babur’s Tomb. That means that they love Babur and not Lord Ram. Among Lord Ram and Babur, the Gandhi family will offer obeisance to Babur first,” CM Sarma said and added: “The decision to invite them was wrong. Only those who have faith in Lord Ram should have been invited for the consecration ceremony”.

“People whose hands are soaked in blood should first visit the temple of Ram Lalla and seek forgiveness before talking about any Nyay,” Sarma said, sharpening his attack on the Congress party.
