Congress leader Oscar Fernandes’s condition stable after brain surgery

Mangaluru: Veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes is recovering after a successful surgery was performed to remove a clot in his brain. He is still in the ICU but his condition is stable and he is under round the clock supervision of specialist doctors.

Eighty-year-old Fernandes was admitted at the Yenepoya Specialty Hospital, Mangalore after he suffered a fall while practicing Yoga at his home and faced complications.

During the UPA government, Oscar Fernandes served as the Union Cabinet Minister for Transport, Road and Highways and Labour and Employment, Government of India.
