Congress hands out iPhone12 to Guwahati’s Manaswita for her Assam Bachao entry

Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Tuesday awarded an iPhone-12 as the first prize to Manaswita Mahanta, 23, of Khanapara, Guwahati under the ‘Assam Bachao’ campaign.

IIT Guwahati student Abhinav Bora won the second prize as OnePlus Mobile and Shivsagar district’s Ian Bantawa and TN Pran won cash prizes for their videos.

Gaurav Gogoi, chairman of the Congress Manifesto Committee, congratulated the winners via a video call and said that they had shed light on the relevant issues plaguing the state.

APCC president Ripun Bora, Devbrat Saikia, Pradyut Bordoloi and other congress leaders also congratulated the winners of the contest.

Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) launched a social media video contest as part of its manifesto building campaign called ‘Assam Bachao’. 

APCC asked the citizens of Assam to make two minute videos about the biggest issues and problems Assam is facing today.

More than 10,000 people have so far covered various issues of the state in the ‘Assam Bachao’ Video contest.
