Congress-AIUDF two pythons that gave birth to Anaconda: Atul Bora

GUWAHATI: Attacking the Congress-AIUDF friendship, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), President Atul Bora compared them to two pythons that have given birth to an Anaconda (coalition). AGP is BJP’s coalition partner in Assam government and has started its election tempo.

Speaking at a party meeting in Sibasagar, Atul Bora stated, “I don’t remember the names of the newly-formed political parties as many parties have been formed in Assam. The Congress and AIUDF are behind these parties. Tarun Gogoi reaped the poll benefits in 2006 by questioning—who is Badruddin? And now Congress has joined hands with him and given birth to these parties. These are dangerous times for the Assamese society.”

Taking on Congress, the AGP President said, “Their time is over. Congress is now trying to be friends with AIUDF. It shows that the party is planning to play communal politics to get power. Just as the Anaconda lies hidden in the jungle people should be alert about these parties and their politics.”

The meeting was attended by local MLAs, district presidents including party vice-president and minister, Keshab Mahanta among others.
