GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed apprehension over community transmission of COVID-19 cases in Guwahati. Dr. Sarma informed media persons on Wednesday that so far 13 COVID-19 cases have been detected in Guwahati at community level.
“The infection in Guwahati has become a matter of grave concern. So far we have found 13 COVID-19 cases at community level,” said Dr. Sarma during his visits to different containment zones in the city.
In last three days three COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in Panbazar Harisabha area of Guwahati. The trio has no travel history. Along with Panbazar Harisabha, Bishnupur and Fatasil Ambari areas in the city have become hotbeds for COVID-19.
“We have to enforce strict containment,” Sarma added.
