GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday inaugurated the newly-constructed Swahid Bedi, Chandi Baruah Bhawan and the newly-constructed Circle Office building at Barpeta district, Assam. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for construction works of Sri Sri Purshottam Thakurdev and Sri Sri Narayan Das Thakur Atar Janiya Satra at Barpeta district of Assam. Sonowal also unveiled a book ‘ন-ঘোষা’, written by Sri Sri Purushottam Thakurdev and edited by journalist Shri Biswajit Das on the occasion.

To keep alive the king’s memory, inaugurated the newly-constructed Chandi Baruah Bhawan at Howly. I believe the building will be pivotal in preserving heritage of the historic town.”

The Swahid Bedi has been newly-constructed in the memory of martyrs of the Assam Movement.
CM Sonowal inaugurated the newly-constructed Chandi Baruah Bhawan that has been constructed in the memory of Koch king Chandi Narayan Baruah who had shown exemplary patriotism in fighting against the Maan.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of Welcome Gate at historic Howly town in Barpeta constructed by Assam Tourism Development Council Ltd(ATDC)
Minister Naba Doley, Media Advisor to CM, Hrishikesh Goswami, MLA Gunindra Nath Das and ATDC Chairman Jayanta Malla and other dignitaries were present in the foundation stone lay down ceremony.
