GUWAHATI: “I welcome Paresh Baruah and ULFA(I) for talks. Let’s create an environment of peace together,” said Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal today.
Inviting Paresh Baruah-led United Liberation Front of Assam (I) for talks with the government, CM Sonowal said, “ULFA(I) should also come forward to join the peace process. We from the government side will definitely go ahead with required dignity.”
“There is a strong hope among the people after all the four factions of NDFB signed peace accord with the government,” he added.
Earlier, Asom Sahitya Sabha also appealed ULFA(I) and its commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah to join the peace process.
