GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday ceremonially handed over the vehicles to the beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantrir Grammya Paribahan Achoni at a function held at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati.
Under the flagship scheme, subsidised vehicles were distributed to the beneficiaries to enhance rural connectivity and to provide employment opportunities for the youths.
“I request the beneficiaries to use the vehicles responsibly so that all of you can write success stories in your villages. You have to inspire others,” Sonowal said.
He also highlighted the aims and objectives of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission.
Transport minister Chadra Mohan Patowary, commissioner to the transport department Adil Khan were also present at the event.
